ANDREW MACPHERSON
Chasing Ansel Adams
Andrew Macpherson, photographer/artist, was born in London and currently resides in Los Angeles, California. His award- winning career has spanned more than thirty years, traveling the globe photographing many of the world’s most cerebrated and iconic musicians, models, actors and designers. He has created multiple bodies of personal work of subjects that have inspired and fascinated him throughout his professional career.
By his mid-twenties he was a regular contributor to magazines such as Rolling Stone, The Face, Elle, Bazaar and Vogue. He became a master at darkroom printing however the carbon and chemical footprint of film’s manufacture, transport, processing and printing created a great deal of inner conflict as both an artist and life long environmentalist. He embraced the digital revolution in the early nineties, which led him having the first digitally created front cover of a fashion magazine in 1991 for Elle. As he envisioned, digital photography as a medium is now one of the most exciting art forms of the 21st century. Andrew’s vision and technical expertise make him one of the most compelling contemporary American photographers. This was his first solo photography exhibit.
